Training Squads 2024
Sunday, 29th September 2024 saw a solid four-hour training session for the Wales Walking Football National Team Squads.
Held at the excellent 3G pitch facilities at the Llanidloes Sports Centre, the training session featured an array of age categories for the
Women’s 40s, 50s & 60s squads and the Men’s 50s, 60s & 65s squads.
Two days later on Tuesday 1st October it was the turn of the Men’s 70s & 75+ squad to be put through their paces with a
fantastic training session at Ocean Park Cardiff.
All of these training sessions are crucial for honing skills and fostering teamwork among players, ensuring that Wales remains competitive
on the international stage at all levels.
And the reason for all this recent effort is because all of the
WALES WALKING FOOTBALL SQUADS
are preparing for our upcoming International friendly on Saturday 26th October 26th against
ENGLAND WALKING FOOTBALL SQUADS
at Newtown, Wales.
Mark your calendars and come along and support our walking football teams as they showcase their dedication and love for the game!

How to Trial
We now have 7 Welsh squads for men and women and have reviewed over the last few months as to how squads are selected. This has given us the chance to look at different players and give 24 players their first caps in the internationals against England in April.
Moving forward we will continue to monitor players at League and Cup games and will be holding a further trial later in the year. This will be purely for new players and not doubling up as a training session. If club managers believe any of your players are good enough please forward their names to info@waleswalkingfootball.co.uk
Selection criteria will be based on a mix of playing ability (particularly first touch and decision making), attitude, team ethic and resilience. Please bear in mind that selection will always be subjective but it is very much our intent to select the best players to represent Wales
Diabetes control and fitness.
Pleasure, team spirit and vitality.
Shots and giggles.
