We now have 7 Welsh squads for men and women and have reviewed over the last few months as to how squads are selected. This has given us the chance to look at different players and give 24 players their first caps in the internationals against England in April. 

 

Moving forward we will continue to monitor players at League and Cup games and will be holding a further trial later in the year. This will be purely for new players and not doubling up as a training session. Selection criteria will be based on a mix of playing ability (particularly first touch and decision making), attitude, team ethic and resilience. Please bear in mind that selection will always be subjective but it is very much our intent to select the best players to represent Wales
